LSA June 2026 Club Update
Summer has arrived, and with it comes a busy season around the club. Please take a few minutes to review the important updates below regarding club operations, safety, upcoming training opportunities, and High Roost’s upcoming season.
🛶 Canoe Storage Clean-Up
The pond area has accumulated a number of abandoned and unmarked canoes over the years. LSA is not intended to serve as long-term storage for unused watercraft, and we will be conducting a clean-up of the area this summer.
Beginning the week of June 15, members may obtain a canoe tag from Roger at the Gun Shop.
Gun Shop Hours:
- Wednesday: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM – Noon
All canoes must be tagged no later than September 15, 2026.
Any canoe that is not properly tagged by September 15 will be considered abandoned and removed from club property.
🛠 Range Clean-Up Weekend Postponed
The Range Clean-Up Weekend that was scheduled for this week has been cancelled.
We appreciate everyone who volunteered to help improve the club grounds and facilities. A new date will be announced in the coming weeks once it has been finalized.
Thank you for your continued support and willingness to help keep LSA one of the premier sportsmen’s clubs in Massachusetts.
🥞 Breakfast Schedule Update
Due to summer schedules and a seasonal decline in attendance, we will be adjusting our breakfast schedule beginning in July.
Starting July 1, breakfast will be served on the first and last Sunday of each month only.
Please note there will be no breakfast service during the July 4th holiday weekend.
We appreciate everyone’s support and look forward to continuing this club tradition while matching volunteer resources to attendance levels.
⚠️ Safety Reminder – Pistol Range
This reminder cannot be emphasized enough:
DO NOT proceed downrange while shooters are actively firing.
Before anyone goes beyond the firing line, it is your responsibility to:
- Call a cease fire
- Ensure all firearms are unloaded and benched
- Verify all shooters acknowledge the cease fire
- Clear the range and change the flags before proceeding downrange
- Confirm the range is safe before anyone goes forward
This includes checking targets, replacing targets, retrieving equipment, or any other activity beyond the firing line.
Every member shares responsibility for maintaining a safe shooting environment. Taking shortcuts with range procedures puts everyone at risk. If you are unsure of the proper procedure, please ask a Range Officer or experienced member before proceeding.
🦌 Massachusetts Hunter Safety Course
LSA will be hosting a Massachusetts Hunter Safety Education Course on:
- June 8: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- June 10: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- June 13: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Participants must register through the Massachusetts Hunter Education Program before attending.

Please note that High Roost will close during Massachusetts shotgun deer season in December and will reopen following the conclusion of the closure period.
